CLEANERS

Conveyor belt cleaners, also known as belt scrapers, are essential components in conveyor systems. They play a crucial role in maintaining belt performance and ensuring efficient material handling. Let’s explore the different types of conveyor belt cleaners:
Precleaners (Primary Belt Cleaners):
- Function: Precleaners are designed to scrape material off the conveyor belt. They are mounted near the head pulley, below the material flow.
- Purpose: Precleaners effectively remove large pieces of material, typically accounting for about 60-70 percent of initial carryback.
- Variety: Flexco offers precleaners in various widths and blade types, capable of tackling even the toughest materials1.
Secondary Belt Cleaners:
- Function: Secondary cleaners are built to scrape materials left on the belt beyond the head pulley. They are positioned just past where the belt leaves the head pulley and at other points down the beltline.
- Efficiency: Secondary cleaners excel at removing fines and can achieve cleaning efficiency of over 90 percent.
