Idlers

Conveyor belt idlers play a crucial role in supporting and guiding the belt along its path. Here are the main types of idlers used in conveyor systems:
Troughing Idlers: These are the most common type of idlers. They support the belt on the carrying side and form a trough shape to prevent spillage. Troughing idlers come in various designs, including equal troughers, unequal troughers, and channel inset troughers.
Return Idlers: Positioned on the return side of the conveyor, these idlers support the empty belt as it returns. They help maintain tension and prevent sagging. Return idlers can be flat or have a rubber disc design.
Impact Idlers: Designed to handle heavy impact loads, these idlers absorb shock when the material falls onto the belt. They are commonly used in areas where large lumps or heavy materials are conveyed.
Self-Aligning Idlers: These idlers automatically adjust to keep the belt centered. They are particularly useful in situations where the belt tends to shift off-center.
